At the beginning of 1989 we had been hit by drought once again in many parts of the world! Unfortunately the media seems to always be looking for a new story, and we sometimes never heard what the outcome was in some other parts of the globe.
Under these circumstances people may soon feel forgotten and alone in their situation.
Therefore when we thought of holding a Day of Prayer for Rain, on April 11th, 1998 here in Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia, I began to think "Why not involve others, in other places?"
The possibility of forming a sort of Mexican Wave of Prayer around the globe, through the Internet, praying for all regions affected by drought, could be a reality! We could communicate through the web, sending letters of encouragement, telling our stories, providing information, and linking together to pray for one another, our countries, and our land.
Thus this web site was born, and it is hoped that it can be an ongoing resource and source of encouragement for people throughout the world.
Originally it was called "Drought & Prayer - 'till the Rains Come, as a sign that we would not give up praying until Drought conditions were relieved, but later in the year so many parts of the world suffered from floods, (Not due to our prayers!) that I changed the name to Drought, Floods, & Prayer.
