From Sydney, Australia, Saturday 11th April.
The rains came here. It has been pouring here since Thursday night.
At present the sun is trying to come out but it is losing out to the showers.
What is so good about it all is that the rain is soaking into the ground and
closing up the cracks in the soil.
So it looks as though the prayers were answered. The grass here was
being burnt off but already it is becoming green again. It is simply marvellous
how quickly the grass recovers. .........

The rain that fell last Thursday caused minor blackouts across town.
Insulated
power cables which had cracked during the long period of
hot, dry weather had become soaked with water, causing blackouts.
Report in the Goulburn Post April 13th.

April 23rd
Widespread soaking rain has fallen across much of Southern and Central NSW over
the past few days according to a report in "The Land" magazine. However
rain continues to evade the drought ravaged district in the South East.
In other areas however, farmers are rejoicing in the latest falls, although follow-up rains will be needed to insure that germinating pasture and crop seed gets a good start
before frosts lower soil temperatures.
